Programs

As a privately-funded catalyst focused on enriching and impacting our community, the LPBC underwrites and facilitates more than 150 events each year.  To help professionals become more successful, we host a variety of workshops, seminars, expos, receptions, weekly executive lunches, social mixers, golf scrambles, and large Signature Breakfast Series events with nationally recognized guest speakers.  The LPBC organizes a number of specialized lunches and events, such as our weekly Executive Lunches, quarterly Referral Rectangles, CFO and CMO Lunches, Young Professionals events, Female Business Leader Lunches, and Professional Connection Lunches with the University of Memphis, where business leaders are mixed with students for moderated discussions about leadership, hiring practices, personal branding, and more.

The Signature Breakfast Series is perhaps the most recognizable event hosted by the LPBC and it is where we get our namesake, as the Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club.  We hold eight (8) per year and these events are known to be the largest regular gathering of decision makers in the Mid-South. The goal is to provide a fast-paced, information-packed morning filled with valuable content and positive news and to bring a large cross-section of community leaders from all sides - business, nonprofit, education, faith, and government - together to foster teamwork and community development.

To make an impact in the community, the LPBC coordinates and hosts numerous volunteer days, nonprofit tours, creative fundraising events, Cultural Connections, steering committees, board placement events, telethons, and more.  In essence, every LPBC event has an element of give back associated, so that it is woven into the very DNA of our organization.

The LPBC also serves as a pipeline for promoting positive news and efforts, like through our weekly "Giving Back" column in The Commercial Appeal, which is published each Sunday and authored by president, Jeremy C. Park.  That same theme continues with our weekly Lipscomb Pitts Breakfast Club Radio Show, which airs Saturdays from 5-6 PM and Sundays from 9-10 AM on News Radio 600 WREC.  We also produce and host a monthly television show, The SPARK, which airs the third Friday of each month at 7:30 PM on WKNO/Channel 10, and an annual televised awards show, The SPARK Awards, which also airs on WKNO-TV.  Our books, Giving Back with Purpose and Giving for Growth then offer a road map for creating your own legacy of making a difference; and they give back to support youth literacy programs, as well.
